ABOUT FEED HALTON
Feed Halton’s mandate is to “feed community together”
Feed Halton brings people, resources, and organizations together to help ensure everyone in Halton has access to essential food and household necessities.
Established in 2023, Feed Halton serves as Halton Region’s central food-distribution hub. Through a coordinated and sustainable approach, we help strengthen the local food-support system by sourcing, storing, and distributing food, personal-care items, and other essential goods to a network of food banks, community organizations, and meal programs.
Together with donors, volunteers, corporate partners, and community organizations, we are building a stronger, more connected system so support can reach more people, more effectively, when they need it most.

THE NEED
Food insecurity continues to place increasing pressure on households and community organizations across Halton, with many individuals and families seeking support for the first time. Feed Halton helps address this growing challenge by providing reliable access to food and essential goods through a centralized distribution model that improves efficiency and expands community impact.
How We Work
Feed Halton operates through a hub-and-spoke model, using a central distribution facility (the hub) to support food banks and community organizations (the spokes) across Halton Region.
Our 13,000-square-foot facility follows a simple process: Source. Store. Deliver.
Source
We coordinate the procurement of food, personal-care products, and other essential items through bulk purchasing and in-kind donation partnerships. By combining purchasing power across our network, we can secure more products at greater value and maximize the impact of every donation.
Store
Our warehouse includes refrigerated and frozen storage, pallet racking, and specialized equipment that allows us to safely receive, sort, store, and prepare large volumes of food and essential goods.
Deliver
Through coordinated logistics and regional delivery services, we ensure partner organizations receive the products they need, when they need them. This reliable supply chain helps agencies focus their resources on supporting people in their communities.
PROCUREMENT
Procurement is centralized and coordinated at FeedHalton to source and secure food and products in large volumes and create purchasing power. In-kind donation arrangements are also pursued with the goal of reaching as many end-clients of the Agency Network partners as possible.
INTAKE & STORAGE
FeedHalton operates an 13,000 square foot facility in the east end of Burlington close to major highways. Our footprint and location have been designed to manage deliveries of large loads and high numbers of product pallets through three docks, one of which is a drive-in. The warehouse is outfitted with industrial refrigeration and freezers as well as extensive racking. Our operations team, equipment and technology can manage the intake of volume deliveries from storage to sorting to shipment out to the Agency Network.
SORTING & PACKING
FeedHalton relies on a team of consistent volunteers to help with sorting of all products and getting those packed and ready for delivery to the Agency Network partners. Sorting and packing all items is consistent with Food Banks of Canada and FeedOntario guidelines.
SHIPPING & DELIVERY
FeedHalton operates a distribution truck throughout Halton and has also coordinated a partnership with Food for Life to leverage their extensive transportation fleet that already has routes throughout Halton. Shipping and distribution are managed centrally through FeedHalton including weekly scheduling to service the needs of the Agency Network.
By coordinating response to meet increased food support demands from the Agency Network and the communities they serve, Feed Halton offers more stability and security in the food and essential goods system.
