Principles

  • Not discriminate against any person for any reason, regardless of race, citizenship, ancestry, colour, sex, age, religion, national origin, ancestry, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, political affiliation, family status, marital status, genetic characteristics, receipt of public assistance, record of offences. 

  • Serve all with dignity.  

  • Make continual efforts to identify and reduce barriers to service.

  • No requirement for anyone or any organization to make a statement of faith or pledge partnership to religious or political organization as a requirement for receiving food.

  • Will not accept payment for food even if offered voluntarily.

  • Serve all Agency Network Partners.

  • No refusal of service based on means.

  • Respect the privacy of all people served and strive to maintain the highest standards of confidentiality.

  • Value alignment with Food Banks Canada’s “Ethical Foodbanking Code”, and Feed Ontario’s Standards of Operations.
