The power of community lies not just in individual acts of kindness, but in our collective ability to create lasting change. At Feed Halton, we’ve witnessed firsthand how our hub and spoke model transforms the way food security is addressed across the Halton Region.
Since our establishment in 2023, we’ve seen remarkable growth in our Agency Network partnerships. What started as a vision to centrally coordinate food distribution has evolved into something much more powerful – a connected ecosystem where local agencies can focus on what they do best: serving their communities directly.
Our 11,000 square foot warehouse in Burlington serves as more than just a storage facility. It’s become the beating heart of a network that spans from Oakville to Milton, from Burlington to Halton Hills. Every pallet that moves through our three loading docks represents hundreds of meals that will reach families in need throughout our region.
The ripple effect is profound. When Georgetown Bread Basket receives their weekly delivery, they can dedicate more time to connecting with clients and understanding their unique needs. When Kerr Street Mission gets access to fresh produce through our bulk procurement, they can offer more nutritious options to the families they serve. This is the power of collective impact in action.
Our volunteer teams have become the connective tissue that makes this system work. Week after week, they arrive at our warehouse ready to sort, pack, and prepare shipments that will travel across Halton Region. Their dedication ensures that every item meets Food Banks of Canada standards and reaches our Agency Network partners in perfect condition.
As we look toward the future, we’re not just building a more efficient food distribution system – we’re creating a stronger, more resilient community where no one has to face food insecurity alone.
