Recipe: Tomato Lentil Pasta

Ingredients
- 1 can of green or red lentils (2 cups)
- 1 can/jar of premade pasta sauce
- 8 oz pasta of your choosing (~1/2 box)
- Parmesan cheese (optional for serving)
Supplies
- Wooden spoon/spatula
- Large pot
- Medium sauce pan
- Strainer
- Can opener
Instructions
Cook the pasta
1. Fill a large pot ¾ full with water.
2. Bring to a boil and cook pasta according to package instructions.
3. Drain pasta with strainer and set aside.
Prepare the pasta sauce
4. While the pasta is cooking, In medium pot on medium-low heat, add jar/can of pasta sauce.
5. Drain and rinse can of lentils and add to pot.
6. Stir until combined.
7. Cook for 10 minutes, to allow sauce mixture to heat up, stirring frequently.
Combine
8. Add pasta into sauce and stir until combined.
9. Serve into plate or bowl.
10. Sprinkle with parmesan cheese (optional)
11. Enjoy!
